OVERVIEW

Duration: 2hours (See Attached Poster for Times)

Location: ASC 265, Arts + Science

Curated and Hosted by Kelsey C. Doyle, PhD Student @ UBCO

Students + Faculty are invited to critically examine how filmmakers represent reality, memory, identity, and culture over the past 100 years. Each screening is followed by a moderated discussion where everyone is invited to dissect the theoretical, technical, ethical, political, and cultural dimensions of each film. This intimate setting is designed to cultivate dialogue that encourages participation beyond passive viewing, to explore the layered implications of visual storytelling in today’s media landscape.

Supported by The University of British Columbia, Okanagan Faculty of Arts + Social Sciences, IGS Graduate Student Society, DOCUBC, and the Collaborative + Experimental Ethnography Lab
