Ahlam (she/her) is a highly accomplished researcher, instructor, and academic instructional and experience designer, with a focus on accessibility and digital technology, cultural heritage, design theories, and user-centered design methodologies. Ahlam is a doctoral candidate in Digital Arts and Humanities from the University of British Columbia, Okanaga. Her research focuses on "Including Blind and Partially-Sighted Museum Visitors with 3D Printing" and aims to improve the museum experience for those with visual impairments.

Before pursuing her Ph.D., Ahlam completed a Master of Art Studies focused on "Tactile Persian Miniature (Negargary) for Blind and Partially Sighted with a focus on Universal Design." Prior to that, she earned a Bachelor of Industrial Design focused on "Design a Vibratory Orthosis for Parkinson’s disease focused on User-Centered Design - UCD Method."

Ahlam is also an experienced instructor, teaching courses on industrial design, creative thinking, media studies, art and media history, and theoretical and critical research methodologies. She is an expert in 2D and 3D digital design and has extensive experience in designing courses and syllabi, learning management systems, UX, and UI.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Ahlam is a passionate advocate for accessibility and universal design. She is committed to making cultural heritage and other public spaces more inclusive for people with disabilities. Through her research and teaching, she has made significant contributions to the field of accessibility and user-centered design.
